Flap brace
Flap brace
Will the flap brace get primed and painted by a paint shop when the time comes? Just wondering if I should let it shine until then, or shoot it with some self etch...

I primed mine with self etching primer, and gave the surfaces that come together (brace and rear spar) a shot of rattle can primer sealer. (self etching primer is not like epoxy primers and require a sealer or to be painted down the road)
The rest of the brace will get painted when the plane gets painted cause your suppose to remove the flaps and ailerons and paint them off the plane, so access to the braces with them off, make it a no brainer to paint them during the spraying of the wings.

True enough about the primer sealer, Dave.
Either way, you will need to scuff the product before applying ANYTHING over it. I figure, the self etch primer is on the shelf and I am gonna hafta seal the whole thing a a unit when it gets painted anyways sooooo...
It is epoxies that tend to chalk if exposed to UV's. So if anyone is using epoxy, don't leave it in the sun.
Either way, same, same...
