East coasters!!

Post by cjensen »

Hey all you out there in east coast country! Looks like I'll be in your neighborhood (for some of you anyway...) on Sunday this weekend the 24th. I'll be in the Lear 35 going in to Georgetown, Delaware (Sussex County KGED). I'll be there at 7am, and be there until about 7pm. Yep, that means I'll be leaving Bloomington at about 4am...YUCK!!

How far is it for some of you to drive or fly? Not sure what the weather is gonna do out there this weekend, but if anybody wants an excuse to fly, or drive...let's get some lunch or something! I should have a car to get around.

Anyone???

Actually, if I can, Ill fly out. That airport is only an hour away from me and its a great stop. As far as food, well, they have a GREAT restaurant on the field. If you are allowed to leave the airport for any amount of time they also have a beach/boardwalk about 40 minutes away.

Chad,

If I didn't already have plans to see the final Dave Matthews Band concert of the year in Charlottesville Sat night, I would be happy to drive up from DC. But...since I missed the last three concerts we were planning to attend due to being on missions, I can't pull this one out from under the wife's feet. Otherwise I would love to!

I get out to OH about every other month, mayby I can drive over some time.

Take care,

Jim

northeast out of reach

Hey Chad:

That's a pretty long haul for us northeasters, even in an RV. Maybe next time you will have a trip to Boston/NY.

Chad, yah... really long way. Considering I was hoping to fly the Chief tomorrow. If I too the Chief to the mid coast, you would have to meet me around Halloween!

Some other time...

Jim, I didn't know you smoked weed!

Sorry Chad, looks like IMC here. Hopefully next time. We do need to do some mid year RB flyins or something.

Yeah, I figured it would be at your place. We flew through some solid IMC just south of DC this morning. Nice and clear here at Georgetown right now, but it's coming this way. Our airplane is sitting right next to Dale Earnhart, Jr.'s Lear 60! Kinda cool! I got a pic I'll post when I get home later. I met his pilots this morning, and we're gonna watch the race a big screen they have set up outdoors in a tent here at the airport just for the race.

We'll catch ya next time!

Here's the pics of the Earnhart, Jr. fleet that we parked between. Our Lear is the 35 in the far end of the last pic. The black EMB-120 Brasilia's are the team airplane's, and the Lear 60 is Jr's ride. He had his dog "Killer" with him, who from what I hear, is with him everywhere he goes.

Wonderful little airport!!  I guess during the May race, they had 8 or 9 teams there. There were actually three teams there, but Jr's was the most impressive. Scott Whimmer and Kevin LaPage where also there, as well as Martin Truex, Jr (with Dale Jr.).

We were there for 14 hours, watched the race from an outdoor tent they had setup for the pilots, and ate Jimmy's food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! GREAT food!! 8)
