Live ATC

Post by captain_john »

I had forgotten about this site until this past weekend when I was at Thermos' house and he was listening to it.

www.liveatc.net

It is great to listen to while you are tinkering around in the shop. Sometimes you hear some really funny stuff!

Have you ever tuned in before?

CJ, I listen to KCID sometimes and once in a while hear someone I know is flying an RV. Helps keep me motivated. :)

CJ - I listen to it at work instead of the radio! ...with my door closed so my co-workers don't think I'm nuts.

My office looks out on the glidslope for ILS 35 and the first few miles of the Zumbro 1 departure at MSP. It's fun to listen to the pros and watch the weather they're dealing with out the window! NOTHING seems to phase them!

I've listened in the past. Can't get the live feed at work. Damned firewalls.

Yup, I have been know to have it going in the background at work as well. My home field has a link from that site. If you want to watch the delayed radar view of IFR traffic, have a look at http://www.flightaware.com/live/ and http://www.passur.com/sites.htm.

Andy's working right now until 11:00 P.M. Mountain but I don't see Denver Center on the feeds anywhere.

I don't believe Denver Center currently streams their audio. If I find a site, I'll post on here.

Hey papkeith -

If you have firewalls at work, try opening the URL directly in Windows Media Payer. ...just grab the link of the tower you want to listen to off of Live ATC and paste it in to the player.

I had to do this to get it to work at our office.

Let me know if it works!
