Tanks are done - no leaks!!

Post by tshort »

Tested them last night and today ... with the manometer and bike pump, no leaks on either tank!!!!
I did have a small leak on the R tank near the nose attach bracket last week when I informally tested (blew in the tube) ... gooped proseal over that and now both are good to go!
It is rewarding to have this done ... not nearly as bad as I had thought, and there is something satisfying about doing it myself.

Now I just need a bucker for the top skins and the wings are done (flaps and ailerons already finished...)

Congrats on the no leak completed tanks! :good job: If only it was as easy as posting a reply, I would gladly show up to help with the skins, but I think we have to wait a little longer for 'beam me up scotty' technology.

That's great Thomas!! 8) 8) I had a couple small leaks in mine, but they were easily remedied. I still get this nagging feeling every once in a while that I didn't do a good enough job, and I'll find a leak when I put fuel in them for the first time though... Time will tell, and I have plenty to build in the mean time.

Thomas, that's a real good feeling isn't it? The tanks are a big milestone. Enjoy it!
