An Emotional Rollercoaster

Emotional Rollercoaster
The phone rang, it was my nephew Dave. Dave is the nephew who attended Dirtweek with me a couple of years ago.
"What are you doing on Dec. 17th?"
"Nothing, Why?"
"You're going to a Patriots' game with me."
"What?!!"
"I just won Pats tickets, and I want you to go with me to the game."
:yay:

Needless to say I was floored. I could only get out a series of Whoohoos, sweets, awesomes, and a couple of so cools.

He had to go, so we hung up. I was grinning from ear to ear. I couldn't believe my good fortune.

I decided I would share the news of my good fortune with my wife. I caller her, and the conversation went something like this:
"Hi, guess what."
"What?"
"I'm going to a Patriots game on Dec. 17th with Dave."
"No you're not."
"huh"
"On the 17th we have tickets to see the trans siberian Orchestra."
"huh."
"Remember, you said you'd go with me? We're doubling with Trish and her date. I've already bought the tickets."
"oh"
I hung up the phone.

Man OH man what I wouldn't give to see the trans Siberian orchestra! You lucky dog! :yay:

No, not really. I just wanted to make you feel better. You gotta' keep your wife happy and that's it and all about it. Stiff upper lip and all that.

Don't get me wrong. I have no problem going to see TSO. I'm just pouting a bit about the conflicting game/show times.

They would be close enough to the same time, oh well :(.

If you haven't started your fuselage and haven't heard of this place Keith, maybe this can brighten up your day. This week we had a guest speaker at our local RAA Chapter (sorta Canadian EAA) meeting from VR3 Engineering. They have a one of a kind machine in the world for cutting and profiling metal tubes with a milling bit, not a plasma cutter. The fit is so perfect between tubes that light hardly gets through most of the interface points. The cutting and profiling takes into account the thickness of the walls. So what, that's nice you say, here's the good part ...

this is a picture of a Bearhawk fuselage kit about to be shipped. The guy that started the company is builder and is now selling tube kits to a few kit manufacturers and well as direct to kit builders. They don't have all that many tube kits programmed yet, but the 2 and 4 place Bearhawks are available. I'm not up on how much this should be worth, but cutting and trimming 130 to 150 tubes to a near perfect fit must be worth something. They have some costs posted on their website.

Here is a closeup of one joint on the 1/2 scale tac welded 2 place Bearhawk fuselage he brought with him to the meeting and an example tube that has been cut on his machine.
