I found it in YOUR GALLERY!

It LOOK'S LIKE a 4 seat -7! Did someone make a jumpseat in the back of a -7? What is going to keep the seat belt cables off the heads of the back seat pax?

Tell me about this pic, please.

This was an RV at Osh either in '05 or '04. 05 I think. You are right, its an extended fuse RV, though I can't remember if its a 7 or a 6. And, as you might suspect, your observations are right on.

I was a bit, uh, suprised when I saw it :o

Isn't that the fabled Super-7? I think it was stretched a bit and the extra seats added. It was just sold last year I think. Do a search on super 7 over on the other forum and you'll get the 411.

Well, it's actually a Super -6, and I can't say for sure if it was stretched or not. It was at Oshkosh in '06. I have a pic of the data sheet that was on the prop. The Nnumber is N641CB, he called it a Super Six Rocket, and is from Denver, CO. He was in the Airventure Cup race and took 2nd place with a 221.85mph average in the Sport FX Class. It's empty weight is 1275 pounds, with a builder given gross of 2100 pounds.

I wanna say it was not stretched other than the cowl to fit the IO-580 on it (299hp claimed). The guy did build additional structure back in to the fuselage to allow an area for his kids legs to stretch out. The seatbelts were over the left or right shoulder only, so the cable sort of went off to the side a bit to avoid the little heads in the back.

Interesting... I have never seen, nor heard of this plane!

I will have to keep my eyes peeled for it.

Thanks!

Uh... yeah that's what I meant.

I'll poke around my own archives to see if I can find some info about the plane.

Super 6 Stretched!

Post by Bob Barrett »

I saw it several years ago and I talked with the builder then. It was stretched and also beefed up by the orginal builder. I don't remember the details.
