RV Turbine rendering...

Post by cjensen »

Here's what my idea of a side by side RV with an Innodyn on the nose MIGHT look like...

To get a 188lb engine to work W&B-wise, it's gonna have to be WAAAAY out there!

What-dya think??

It'd definately take some getting used to, not sure if I could get used to it.... :?

Isn't the fuel burn on those pretty high? Doesn't sound like it would work well for the cross country based machine I have in mind. Would be nice & smooth though :)

You must be bored :-D Id be interested if the fuel consumption would allow a 3 hour cruise. I dont think thats going to happen though. Any new news from Innodyn? Nahh, didnt think so.

Yeah, I'm bored...

I've tried contacting Innodyn three times in the last week with no response, and mailbox full replies. NO news.

The fuel burn isn't going to be anywhere near their claim, pretty much garaunteed.

I just thought it'd be fun to get a drawing out there. 8) :D

Why not consider adding a forward storage compartment or even a header tank to help offset the W&B?

I just hope the fuselage is delivered before he can call Van to have it changed back to a nosedragger.

Oh, c'mon on now guys! Wait, you're right...

No changin' that fuse order now! It's paid for, and is ready to ship. I had 'em hold it for a couple of days due to a trip to Minnesota next week.

Say it with me...Chad is building a taildragger, Chad is building a taildragger.

Now, will it have a turbine on it? Very doubtful. Maybe a Subie though!

Chad, I'm thinking one of their 165TE's on each wing could make for a pretty interesting -7

I think the "needle nose" concept looks a little too Comp Air for my tastes- it needs a chin scoop or something

That might work, but I would think that a big issue would be the overall fuel burn. Youd have to take up a good bit of weight to feed that thing for a decent flight. Youd also have to make sure that the headertank stayed full for W&B. I would think that would make it useless as a resource.

Okay all you Snoopy fans...

I painted it, and reshaped the spinner a bit to make it look more uniform.

Paint makes it better, Charlie Brown!

I think I could get used to it! 8) 8)

I need to add the exhaust stacks... :)

NOW we're gettin' somewhere!!
