Creating a sales recipt for my aircraft

Post by pequeajim »

I am selling my airplane and want to know where to get an example of a sales recipt that I can fill out when selling the aircraft?

You need a bill of sale. That will serve as your receipt, and the buyer's title. The new registration is the responsibility of the buyer to handle. The bill of sale can be found on the FAA's registration site. Just do a search for 'bill of sale' on the site, and it should bring up a .pdf to download.

If you don't find it, let me know, and I'll get a link posted for you tomorrow when I'm at my office.

Here's the link to the pdf page. Print three copies of the third page. One for you, one for the buyer, and one to send to the FAA. All instructions are on the first two pages, so print those as well, but just one copy is needed. Make sure all three are signed in black ink, and that all three match perfectly.

:)

EDIT: Oops, forgot the link the first time...
