Manitowoc RV7
I flew over to Manitowoc today in the Archer and heard an RV7 on the frequency. After landing I got to talking with the pilot and snapped this pic. Very nice looking and great workmanship. Very motivational

Jeff,
The builder is a motercycle machanic in Manitowoc who is working on his private. He hired Jim Wheeler (local CFI and all around good guy) to fly off the 40 phase 1. Jim has done first flights in 3 RVs now.
You may remember Jim from the newspaper articles last summer when he had a deaf student that did get his private.
Anywhoo...... When is your 6A coming out of paint? I can't wait to see it
Till then, let me know if ya need some stick time in the Archer

Will:
Your guess is as good as mine regarding when my 6A will be out of the paint shop. He was way behind when I delivered it to him (even though I called ahead to see if they were on schedule...DOH!), plus all the really cold weather we had in Feb. slowed him up even further.
I guess it will be done when it is done. I'm just glad that I'm not waiting over 6 weeks for it during the summer prime flying months.
So do you have that fuselage done yet???

Hi John!
Good to be here. Thought I would check in to see what's been going on.
I haven't been following your progress. How has the -7 been going?

Comin' along REAL NICE!
I am putting the tailcone onto the center section as I type this!
The way I see it, still a few years away from airborne, but it is about the journey! No rushing things now!

I hear ya on enjoying the journey. It will be close to 10 years that I have been working on my 6A. Sure has been a blast. That's why waiting another 6+ weeks for paint to be done is no big dealcaptain_john wrote:Comin' along REAL NICE!

I *am* a bit concerned about you with one hand on a keyboard and the other with a rivet gun tho.....
