What Luck!

Post by papakeith »

Last week I went to a winter dirtbike party. It was good to meet up with some friends I hadn't seen for some while.

Anyway, one of the attendees was Paul. Paul owns a company called Signatron in Mass. Paul was liquidating the company's property and moving the business back to his home. Here's how the conversation went.

"You have any interest in some metalworking tools?"
"Sure I do, what have you got and how much?"
"I just need them gone. I'd rather see them go to a friend than to a wholesaler. there's a metal brake, a corner sheer, and a straight sheer. I've also got an end mill if you are interested in that."

I believe I said something along the lines of,"Hell yes!"

Today I went and picked up some of the stuff. Sometime in the next week I'll figure out how to move the mill.

Not bad for nothing!

PK, looks like you made quite a haul! I'm sure all of those items will come in very handy as you work on your project. Glad you were there at the right time. The majority of the dirt bike people are great people, like most pilots. Once in a while you run into a bad one but most I am happy to call my friends.

I'd have to agree with your assessment of Dirtbikers. There are a lot off parallels that can be drawn between the two groups. It was actually dirtbikes that introduced me to the man who led me to the homebuilder world.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the metal punch that I got too :)

BTW John, Dave. and anyone else within driving distance. If you are interested he has ~10 steel frame work benches that he wants 50$ for. Let me know if you are interested.

What a deal! Hope you have space for all those, that would be my problem if someone offered that kind of thing to me, where to put them all. Buy the guy something even if he didn't want to get paid, oh, and make sure he gets a ride in the plane when it's done. Tell him how the machines help build it.
