Hi Guys,
Our EAA Chapter is having a fly-out to Franklin County Airport (F53) in Mt. Vernon, Texas this Saturday at 11 am. We're having hot dogs and other goodies. We'll also have the old volleyball net set up and horseshoes for those who like to throw things. Ya'll come if ya' can!
My question (as well as the invite) is about the spot landing contest we're having upon arrival. I ain't never done this before. What do I use for the "line", flour? Suggestions are welcome!
And as always, "Have a goodun!",
Spot Landing Contest
I've only been in one spot landing event, and there the airport didn't want anything on the runway, so they used short flags and balloons at the side to mark the 'line'. The judges sat in lawn chairs on either side and had small markers every 10 feet either side of the 'line' to help determine the distance.

What about that stuff they mark ball fields with? Is that chalk? Lime? Snow? Could you rent one of those machines from the local little league park? Or will your airport get all stuffy if you make a mess on the runway?
