Question on flap brace

Post by Brantel »

I riveted on my flap brace yesturday and due to all the various levels the base of the flap brace sits against, the skin to brace flange seems to be slightly warped up.

See in the pic, the brace is not straight and flat but wavy down at the root end. I clecoed the bottom skin on and it will flex into place but it leaves the trailing edge of the skin with a little wave. This being where the flap hinges, is this going to be a problem? Anyone else see this issue or is it normal and nothing to worry about?

Normal, and not to worry about. Mine did the same thing, and I just worked right on ahead. Alignment and hinge action are fine after the fact.

I did think the exact same thing though when I riveted the brace on. I thought for sure that I did something wrong...

Mine didn't do that but I would cleco the skin on and look at the warpage with a critic eye and then see what you think.

It may straighten out like Chad says. I think it will too!
