Tipped the canoe today!!

Post by cjensen »

Well, it happened WAY earlier than I thought it would (remember my 2007 goal... ), but today was the day my fuselage saw the light of day right-side up!

I had two buddies of mine come over to help me do this. On the left in the pic is Terry Wendling, RV-7A QB builder, and on the right of the pic is Rob Johnson, RV-7 SB builder.

Man it feels good to get that thing turned over!!! 8) 8) 8) 8)

Way to go brother! Go kiss your wife, pet the dog(s), grab a cool drink, put your feet up, and take a look at the AIRCRAFT fuselage you've just constructed. That ain't no canoe from the looks of it. Looks like a blinkin' airplane to me. :) Sooner than you think you'll be sitting in that fuselage listening to to the engine ticking as it cools down after your first flight. Trust me, it comes sooner than you think. :)

Chad,

Nice job in getting this far. Turning my fuselage over was a big day in my building. Be sure and celebrate the successes in life.

One thing I remember is beginning to work on the interior of the fuselage after it was right side up. I go so tired of bending over the side, that I turned it back upside down to install the rest of the interior. I got a stool and sat under the fuselage. Seemed to make all the platenuts go alot easier. Just my $.02
