Cincinnatti, OH Crash

Post by captain_john »

While at the health club this morning, I saw the news on television but was unable to hear it. They said an experimental plane crashed in Cinci on a highway and from the footage I saw, it looked like an RV-6 or -7. Others at the club said the engine failed.

Does anyone know any more about it?

I hope the pilots are well.

Small airplane crashes on Cincinnati street

A small airplane has crashed on a Cincinnati city street. A police dispatcher says police and firefighters have been sent to the scene and that no injuries have been reported.

The plane landed in a commercial area in the northeast part of Cincinnati, less than half a mile from Interstate 75. Witnesses say two people got out of the plane.

...are you sure that's not a Legacy or a 360? Check out the wing and the shape of the canopy...

Nice to hear the pilots are OK!

kinda looks like a zodiac.. Look at the canopy. Although it does look like a composite.

Its a French MCR-01 VLA, composite with a Rotax engine. Pretty good specs actually. Not an RV but there have been 3 RV-6 accidents this week 1-14 San Diego, CA; 1-15 Huntsville, AL; and 1-17 Sanford, FL. FL and AL loss of engine power, don't know what happened in CA. No injuries reported in any of them.
