Roll bar position
Roll bar position
I am getting ready to mount the roll bar assembly onto the fuse (tip-up canopy) and I am finding it a little vague on the plans just how to get it positioned fore to aft. There is a note to place it at station 56 inches and a bit. i can't rember the exact fraction. The station is relative to what?? The firewall perhaps? If so is it the front or back of the firewall. If anyone has any pointers on how to get it placed I would appreciate it. Thanks Gary
Chad Thanks. I think it is a pretty pivotal issue since so much stuff will be impacted by the placement of the roll bar. One thing it think is helpful and Dan C also points this out is to put on the skin that encloses the rear window. The edges come forward and you locate the roll bar out board mounting brackets relative to that skin. Lots of niggly little things to get right but I think it is worth the time. Let me know how it all works out. For me I have a bit of a 'Honey do' list for the weekend but I do want to get the thing installed early next week. Cheers G
I did get my roll bar finished this last week, and it is like Jim said, just get it all cleco'd in place, and it works. I have a couple of strange "slightly off" areas, and by that I mean that I will probably be the only one to notice, but there really isn't very much adjustment with the top brace holding things in place.
