Ummmmm, Welllll... This is all I can photograph as of yet!

Image

The wind is still blowing 50+! Probably 60+ gusts are not out of the question to be perfectly honest!

The cover blew off the boat, had to refasten that, it was FUN!

Dog is ABSOLUTELY HORRIFIED while outside!

Visibility is variable from 5 to 50 feet. Occasionally 100 feet.

This storm is all that it was forecasted to be.

The school is a shelter. We are in a stete of emergency and I hope they maintain power, otherwise, that 150 horsepower snowmobile is going down the STREET! I am keeping BOTH JEEPS cozy inside the garage!

Time: 07:19 local Eastern time
Condition: Heavy winds, blowing snow, electricity and internet ON!
Expectations: Unknown!
Supplies: 2+ bottles Captain Morgan, 4 Liters Coca-Cola, 7 Gallons MOGAS, JEEPS, Sled and snowthrower FULL of gas and inside the garage.

Updates to follow!

I was raised in the plains in soutneastern Colorado. Been there, done that! Saw drifts 15 to 20 ft high one year. Didn't like it . And now whereI live, if it snows a foot, it is a foot on everything. It comes down vertically not horizontal. I like that kind of snow

Umm.......excuse me but what is that white stuff? Its bloody 35 deg C here today. For those of you that cant be bothered trying to work that out. IT MEANS IT IS HOT.

I wish we had some weather here like that. I love the cold and snow but ti only comes here once a year for about a month. All of it down south at one place. Not fair I tell ya.

Love that door photo CJ. Nice imprint in the snow.

Well, it is done. No power losses and for the most part, we are clear of the snow for the time being.

Thanks to my MIG welder, I was able to repair a broken auger cable fulcrum! I was able to remove the old, broken part and weld it up stronger than when it came from the factory! After welding it, I primed it and reinstalled it. Better than new!

On the last start of the evening, the rope starter broke! Dammit all! Nothing seems to ever go smoothly when snow is involved! Two breakdowns in one night. Well, there is always tomorrow. At least we are clear for now.

In the AM I plan on going to the health club and will bring my camera so you can see what we got for a dumping. I would say we got a solid 30" here. It was so windy, some spots are 6 feet deep and others are bare.

I am tired and goin' to bed.

Weeeeeeellllll, this is what the other side of the door looks like... after the cut through!

Image

The house is still standing, but the wind sounded like a Super King Air was parked in front with take off power applied!

Image

Image

The neighbor's mailbox looks like it may be some time before he gets his Vans Newsletter! As you can see, the street isn't even touched yet. We had a front end loader pass by once yesterday. Nuttin' today, though.

Image

...and this is the drift behind the garage. The fence in the background is a six footer.

Image

I was hoping to go to the health club this morning, but there is no answer at the desk. I will try again later. Maybe I will make some pancakes!?!

NO SCHOOL TODAY!

There are plenty of people here that cuss and swear at the thought of the white stuff. The fact of the matter is, it happens here. Down here near Cape Cod, we normally don't get quite this much. Nevertheless, one needs to be prepared.

It is kinda good that we got as much as we did, because when you only get enough for it to be a PITA it makes life rough.

A good debiliating DUMP like this is like having an extra holiday in the year.

I just WISH my health club would open! I keep calling and no answer!

DAMMIT ALL!

It sure is Mighty Dave!

Need to move the JEEPS out of the garage and make some room first, though.

Thinking about hanging the HS from the rafters, setting up the wing jig and countersinking those main wing spars today!

We shall see what gets done.

Thats what I did this past weekend. We got snowed on so I decided to just hang in the house for two days and work on the plane. I finished up the HS and its ready for primer and I just about got the VS completely finished and prepped for primer. I think I would have gotten through it all if I hadnt lost power for a few hours. By the end of the day though I was getting tired of looking at aluminum so I took the wife out for some dinner.

My buddy Mark STILL isn't out!

I hope Intuit doesn't need technical support today!

Well, I guess I am not getting much airplane stuff done today.

I am easily distracted. I need to sell this thing. It is a BEAUTY, and it kills me to lose it.

I just HAD to take it for a quick RIP around the block. I mean with all this snow...

Anyone wanna buy an absolute MINT condition '02 Polaris 800cc twin?

CJ...reminds me of when we lived in Truckee, snow was always up to the eves. Here in Alaska it snows for 2 days then 50 knot winds for 3 days blows it all out in the inlet. Now we just have frozen grass!!!! Nice snow machine..........Larry

Lemme tell ya, when it catches air... it is LOGGABLE!

Up in Northern Maine, you can CRUISE the trails at 100 mph. Many of those trails have gentle, undulating hills and you can really get some air under your skis!

Ten feet off the ground and distances of 20' or more is possible!

We are getting MORE snow now! I made a turkey dinner and am platenutting wing spars as I type this.

It is now official, no school until MONDAY!

...just gonna hang and do airplane stuff this week!

Man, teaching is a TOUGH JOB!
