Dan got all rushy rushy trying to get the last rib clecoed and riveted while the last bit of nasty proseal was getting stiff and hard to work with, and as he furiously shuffled stuff around, he slammed a gallon of MEK down on the bench as I was leaning over to squeeze a rivet, and I got a healthy splash right in the eyeball.
Oh jesus that hurts.
MEK in the eye hurts like hell

Re: MEK in the eye hurts like hell
Kills your MRSA you had, too. Please tell me you washed your eye out well. Watch carefully in the next 1-2 days for increasing redness, irritation, etc. If so, see an ophthalmologist THAT day. Here is an MSDS on MEK:

Hope all is well... .

I learned quick while cleaning cleco's after work sessions on the tanks that you need to at a minimum wear safety glasses and better yet goggles while working with this stuff.
Ouch!

Ian,
I hope you make it through the building process and are actually healthy and strong enough to move the throttle lever forward!
Dam!
You better start being careful!
Are you suffering and post traumatic symptoms?

hahaha I'm fine
I wear contacts, and I think the lens took the brunt of it. I got it out immediately and flushed my eye really well, no discernable damage three days later
BTW, I'm just getting back to the point where I CAN push the throttle on my own in the cherokee!
