I'm filling out my order for my wings and sending in the license agreement, and they want to know the kit serial number for the license agreement. I THOUGHT I saw it somwhere when I got the tail kit, but can't remember where it was
Can someone give me a hint, please??

Just give Van's a call in the morning. They can look it up quickly.

To Van's, your builder # is the kit serial number. When the airplane is finished, you can give it whatever serial number you want...

True and you don't have to call it a Van's anything. You can call it whatever you want because you are the manufacturer. Check it out:
RV-4 S/N:1054 N311SV
Okay, so I wanted to call it an RV-4. I may call the next one an SV-7.

I decided to keep mine an "RV"-8 rather than something else cause I figured it was easier than having to get into details about what type of experimental I was to ATC.
(I also used my builders number as my serial number for the aircraft.)
