Hey All,

I thought this would be an interesting thread, as we are always thinking about the next plane we will build.

The renewed interest in the -3 kits among veteran builders is a good example.

I like the idea of a fun little -3 as much as I do a -10 for lugging around a crew!

I am probably MOST intrigued by the idea of a high wing floatplane with huge capacity like... the BEARHAWK! Maybe an O-540 with 230 hosses and amphibious floats? Simple electric avionics and good honest qualities.

What plane intrigues you?

I voted 8, hands down. It's what I really wanted from the start, but Brit wouldn't sit behind me.

I think a 3 would be fun, but toddling around by myself ALL THE TIME, would get old to me. I have no interest in the 10 whatsoever...honestly, if I wasn't building my 7, I would more than likely be building a car...Cobra.

I'm still having way too much fun building the 7 to even think about something else I would really like to build. Maybe after a few serious setbacks one will come to mind, like something that can land on a long driveway.

I have a LIST....

I voted Rocket, but it's not really on my list for awhile, since I'll already have an RV...

the next plane will be a Super Cub, it'll likely begin construction before the RV is finished... it'll be a partner project. We want to build a ridiculously STOL cub so we can land on football fields if we want

After the super cub is done, we're going to build a pair of Pitts S2C's.

Since a Stemme wouldn't really count as a project, maybe a -10 in a partnership with 1 or 2 other parties, or another 130+ hp for my car

I'm with Don. I'm so focused on getting my RV-7A finished and flying that I haven't even thought of something else. But I voted for the Rocket on a whim. Faster, even more exciting, why not?

Of course, that isn't realistic.

My two choices would be either an Osprey II amphibian or a WWI fighter replica such as a Fokker D-VII. At the present time, these both look like pipe dreams as I need all available cash for gas and other op expenses

Keith, you are welcome.

What I am kinda suprised at is, no one selected the -3. Hmmmm... I happen to like it but it does have it's shortcomings.

The -10's I expected to see listed. In the back of my mind I thought it would be popular.

The -7 really isn't a "second" project, I think. It makes a really good "first" project for it's relative utilitarian nature, I think.

I chose the Bearhawk because now that I have virtually completed the RV airframe, I think I could pull off the plans built wings. Without the RV, I don't think I could do it.

I guess my choices would lie at either end of the spectrum.

A -10 would be a great traveling plane as would a Lancair ES (if I could bring myself to fork out that kind of cash or work with that much nasty epoxy). The funny thing is that after working on the RV I am less inclined to do a glass plane.

A Rocket or One Design would be great for boring holes in the sky or seeing the coast of Maine from an inverted attitude.
