Bought a lathe last night

Post by tmbg »

I picked up an old 50's Clausing geared head metal lathe last night. It's been overhauled and is in great shape.

It was kind of a pain to move, but I got it in and running!

Now we're just a truckload of metal away from starting our pitts fuselages :D

keep your eyes on craigslist, you can get good old lathes for not much money...

I paid $2300 for this one, everything's in good shape on it, and it came with a whole mess of tooling! Two chucks and a faceplate, couple of live centers, a tapered drill arbor with jacobs chuck, a steady rest, quick change with 11 tool posts.
