Oshkosh Logistics?

Post by bullojm1 »

OK, so I have been Chadding back and forth about going to Oshkosh this year. Originally, it was yes, then a buddy backed our so it was back to no. Well, now I have confirmed tickets to be in Chicago next Tuesday through Sunday (thanks to work!). I only have to work through Wednesday afternoon. I would like to go to Oshkosh on Thursday (for the Otter) and get back to Chicago on Friday evening. Anyone have any idea about how to get between Chicago and Oshkosh besides renting a car? If I do make it out, anyone got a spot for me for a night or two? Beer's on me!

Thanks!

Rental car is probably the cheepest deal. However you could check flights from Ohare to ATW (appleton). Might find some cheap ones. There is also the dreaded bus

So I think I found a friend from MN that is going to osh and can take me back to Chicago. Plus he used to work at Cirrus and can get me hooked up with a room with those guys. The stupid thing is a 1 way car rental from Chicago to Oshkosh is over $200 for one day! I might need to greyhound it!

Well, my trip to Oshkosh is planned now. I gotta give a big thanks to Captain John for letting me crash in his tent! I will be there Thursday morning before noon and take off Friday in the late afternoon. You guys will know I am there when you see the guy walk up with all the cheap cold beverages in a big cooler!

Go down to the rental car area with a sign that says RV Builder needs a ride to Oshkosh... somebody is bound to pick you up. Oh and don't forget the bud lite and axe.

You better bring something better than Bud Light if you want the Capt. to hold your spot!

Oh, I am making a special stop in the worlds best beer store in Chicago for something for CJ! Never piss off the owner of the house you're staying in is rule #1 in my book!
