Jerry! Great to see someone building an LSA. Keep us posted on build times and what you think of the kit in general. Nice blog too by the way. Mongo like picture.

As you can see from my RV-12 build log, I've finished my wing kit. Ordered my forward fuselage kit #2 on July 28, 2008 and Vans expects to ship it around the end of September. I hope to have it here in Florida by early to mid-October. Then they'll offer kit #3, empannage and tailcone; #4, finishing kit; #5, engine and finally #6; avionics in the coming months.

With a little bit of luck, could have air under the tires by December 2009. We'll see ...

Wow, I didnt realize they were going to be selling it in 6 kits. Lots lots of shipping to be done

The wing kit was $558.00 for shipping to Sarasota FL from OR. I've a feeling it will cost about $2,500.00 for shipping costs for the entire kit. Maybe I should move to Oregon.

I just ordered the fuse last week and I am not looking forward to what the shipping cost will be to MD.

Shipping on these projects has gone from a minor irritation to about the cost of anohter kit that needs to be factored in the budget at the beginning of the project

You're welcome to come to Oregon! We can always use another builder here in our Home Wing chapter. I've saved a ton of money by picking up my sub-kits at Vans Will Call. No crate charge, no shipping, and no sales tax. Yippee!
