OT: In Memory of Duncan

Post by RV9inIowa »

This isn't RV related, but he was my building buddy and my close friend for 364 days. Duncan our 14 month old Golden died suddenly but peacefully this week. He was the best dog, ever, and will be sorely missed by my family. We will get another puppy, but not a replacement.

I just wanted to post this - no replies necessary.

Well, you can't post this, and NOT get a response...at least from me. Many of us are dog owners (and more so our kids), and several are Golden owners...we have two. This breaks my heart man. I saw the pic first, then read the words, and a tear slipped down my face. Sorry to hear this. :(

Dave, sorry to hear the news about Duncan. I'm sure your family will miss him but they will also have memories of him the rest of there lives. I know I still remember my dogs from when I was a kid and that was a long time ago.

Sorry to hear about your loss. My yellow lab, Jake passed a year ago next week. I still think about him daily.

Sorry to hear about the pup. no doubt mans best friend..i have a black lab, black pomeranian, and a stray i took in. my cat ran off a couple of years ago and i still call her sometimes .once she returned after 2-3 months. i love my pets. the pom is my baby. she follows me everywhere and dutifully stands gaurd. if im in the shop and the door is open she will lay under a truck 100 feet way, if it is dark she'll lay 5-10 feet away back to me looking out into the darkness. she will stay for hours. i cant get out of the house to work in the shop or she goes bizerk. she somehow knows when im going to my real work and doesnt say a peep. i would be truly sad to loose one of them. :(

the pom was the wifes but after a month of plane building she chose me.... on the other hand the lab then went to her. the stray favors the kid.
william....don't let it beat you down, you are stronger than you think.

Worst Feeling

Post by aparchment »

Very sorry to hear this Dave. My heart goes out to you.

We had to put one of our cats to sleep a few weeks ago, and it really crushed us.

With time, the pain will fade and you will savor the good memories.

Thanks to all for your kind words. We'll always miss Duncan.

After a 1200 mile flight, our new family member has arrived!

Myles is already making a new place in our family... Now he just needs to figure out how to sleep all night and go outside to the bathroom!

LOL - that is very possible... I didn't say which direction the 1200 mile trip was... Myles is one of those fabled Hudson Bay Polar Bears :P

Dave, OMG! I just posted my regrets to Keith and now I read this?

Looks like a nice pup you got there now!

I need to log in more often and say hi more regularly.

My best again,

a new englander pup

Post by RV9inIowa »

Thanks CJ - he's from your neck of the woods (near KMHT). I did a 2 day there and back trip to get him. He flew in the cabin with me (in a Paris Hilton bag :P ) and did real well. Northwest charged me $80 so I could carry him in and use up my footspace. He's a great pup so far.
