Go Flying!

Post by hydroguy2 »

Lack of money coupled with a dose of below zero weather, a dash of high winds and too much family over the holidays, had brought my flying to a screeching halt. Well today the planets aligned. I was off work, weather was good enough and no honey do's. Budget still in the crapper, but I treated myself to an hour in the Citabria. Hadn't flown since Oct 17th, but didn't embarass myself. Wheel landings, 3 pointers, short field all on the money.
Just the motivation I've been needing to get back in the shop.

Lucky Slug!

I, on the other hand, am still stuck in the middle of one of the worst winters I can remember up here for a long time.

To add injury to insult, I went out to MNM Saturday to fly as it was a CAVU day and relatively warm (20F) only to find the runways looking like ice rinks. Was out there today and the airport is now officially closed due to all the ice.

ARRRGGG!!! :bang:

HA! I've had plenty days this year of -25*F......You can keep them.

Oh and the bonus for me. I was filling out my logbook and noticed 4 yrs ago today I started training for my PPL. 1/14/2005 was actually my 2nd training flight, first one was 10/9/1978. :o

Dang Weez, don't do that!

I haven't been able to fly the whole holiday season either. First, it was fog season here in the valley. Then I caught a cold, now I have bronchitis. And right now my part of California is experiencing record warm temperatures and beautiful flying weather. And I have no plane to fly! I may have actually have to break down and rent a plane. :o

Thanks for the well wishes. i should be getting out of here soon. I suppose I'll get out to the airport at some point and finish putting in the the last few screws. all i have left it do is to change the oil, install flight controls, and put on push pull tubes.....but guys let me tell ya, that old phrase "so close you can almost taste it." has new meaning for me. :bang:
