Hey Chad, is that a model RV?

I have been noticing your Avatar lately Chad. Is that an RV model? I am in the process of designing a 1/5th scale RC model of my 6A. I know that there are ARF versions out there, but I have never seen a built up RV model before.

Sure is! I found a 7/7A kit from a company called Hobby Hangar that makes a laser cut kit. It's not an ARF, but everything is laser cut like the C195 I'm just about finished with. It has a 36" wingspan, so it's pretty small, but the proportions are pretty good, and it can be built in either config.

I haven't started working on it yet...it's number 3 in the build cache AFTER I finish the 195...oh, and that pesky full scale airplane in the garage needs some time too...

Cool!! Its a bit too small for my likes. I plan to power my model with a .53 Enya 4 cycle I have laying around. I plan on about a 56" wingspan. Eventually I am going to do close to a 1/3rd scale model and power it with a Saito 3.0 twin 4 cycle I have.

Once I get the plans done for the 1/5th scale, I'll post some picks.

Sweet! Looking forward to seeing more details on that!

Yeah, it's smaller than I like too, but it's the only RV kit I have found so far...I'm not a fan of ARF's or RTF's...

After the 195 is done...

60" Buttercup from plans (all sticks)
Mini (24") Guillam C170 for display
36" RV-7
1/5th (80") Ercoupe from Ziroli plans

Just go for the 1/3rd scale Ercoupe from BalsaUSA. Really nice model and flies great too. The prototype shown in the adds was modeled after the Ercoupe I have flown. Everything is scale on the model. Trailing link landing gear and all.

I'm getting fired up to start sniffing airplane glue again!!

BTW... is that RV model a 3 channel job? I don't see any ailerons.

Yep, the 7 has ailerons...it can be built either way tho. Mine will have 'em...
