countersinking fibreglass fairings

I am completing my RV8 Empennage fairings...do any builders go with round head screws for the fairing attach to both the vertical and horizontal stabs..?looks a bit too thin for countersinking and flat head screws...any advice ... photos appreciated...rgds to all...stan

Many if not most of the ones I have seen have been done with round head screws.

I'd say I've seen about equally both...those that use CS screws are using Tinnerman washers...

many tks fellas...i.ll do some more study on this...i.d like to see some close-ups of both if i can...just the cosmetics of the round heads...by the way chad ,your recent photos of your assembled a/c looked great!!...i.m a bit slack re posting etc...but will try to post photos down the track...rgds to all...stan

I used tinnerman washers and cs screws on mine.

I used #6 Stainless Steel counter sunk screws on my RV-6A. I have 31.8 hours on it as of today and so far there is not problem. If a problem developes I will use tinerman washers.
