RBers -- Choose my N-Number!

Post by bullojm1 »

So I am all ready to register my N-Number for my RV. I have all of the forms filled out. I have the bill of sale from Van's. I even have a nice fat $5.00 check I am giving the government for stimulus. However, I am torn between the two N-Numbers I have reserved.

So because I can't decide, I would like all of my buddies on here to help me out. The two are basically identical except for the first two digits being ascending or descending. The 7 stands for a RV-7, and the MB are my initials.

I plan on sending in all my registration info Friday morning, so get to it!

Thanks for curing my indecision!

I always like to say "niner", but I voted for door #2 as fivesixseven rolls of the tongue easier.

I vote for the ass-ending numbers as well!

:P

Did you ever notice that they name intersections interesting things as well?

For instance, just off Hyannisport on Cape Cod a few miles off the Kennedy compound is DRUNK!

Too bad that is a German registration for an airplane! D-RUNK OMG that would be funny!

Someday I suppose we will have words. Nike has N1KE.

I guess that I am rambling...

I suppose that if I were you I would use 567MB.

I like fewer syllables most of the time, so 567 is better for that. Also, I suspect, the sequence "five six seven" is easier for everyone to remember and recognize in a busy ATC environment since most of us have grown up learning to count in that order. On the other hand, the word "niner" really stands out since it isn't a normally used word, but I still like 567 better. There, that's my 2 charlie echo november tango sierras worth.

Mike, Mike, Mike...

987MB is MUCH easier to say.... Practice saying both numbers really fast and decide for yourself.

I know I originally said my N Number was up to you guys to choose. However, Spike's quote of:
Ugggh! "Five Six Seven Eight, who do we appreciate"
quickly changed my mind. So last Friday I mailed in my registration. Today it appeared on the FAA registry! Wow that was FAST!

Notice the lack of anything that would give you a hint this is an RV or what kind of engine it has. Me hopes this will distract the taxman!

Cool Mike! But trust me, you will never have to worry about the taxman when you list your County this way...

County NOT FOUND

How did you ever get away with that?

Well this plan thoroughly backfired! I received my tax bill and I think I have the highest assessed RV out there -- $200K!

$20 says someone did an internet search for RV's and looked at all of the RV-10's for sale.

You should be able to debunk it with receipts.

I fully plan to fight this to the fullest. I have 30 days to respond, and bet your *ss I will take every bit of those 30 days to wait. I will mail the state a pile of receipts and go from there. I am sure I can push this out a good 3-4 months and get it down to something reasonable.

Mike,

Based on your registration data, how in the H*LL did the State determine a tax base value? Is it possible to post the letter you received? I would love to see it.... Perhaps you could email it to me (smithhb@tds.net)
