You will need to adjust your squelch setting on the Icom A210. If there are any noise sources around your plane, it will pick them up.
The standard and the standby side both have their own RX light.

On the squelch, in the hangar around lights, chargers and other electrical noise makers, mine has to be set up way high to keep it from opening but when the airplane is away from all of that crap, I can set it down lower.
