I wish there was a kit for making one. Anybody got pics of a glove box installation?

The guys at Aerotronics also have a neat setup for map box doors / hinges. Its all flush looking and opens in a nice fashion. I have seen it on a few panels that they have built.

I have the AeroTronics map box in my RV. In fact, I have the only AeroTronics map box that wasn't installed in a panel designed by them. What they sell you is just the fiberglass box, and you have to manufacture the door and hinge system

Here's what I'm thinking as far as the layout. Opinions are welcome!

I'm including a small 2 1/4" airspeed indicator and an altimeter just for overkill. Will I need the thicker panel for all this? Except for the switches, knobs and fuses, here's my grocery list (top to bottom, left to right).

Smitty,

With the Dynon system you can eliminate the need for the separate Hobbs meter.

I think the fastener that secures the door; the slot should be in the horizontal position instead of the vertical position when the door secured.

Thanks Bret! I didn't know that. I'll put my beer bottle opener there instead.

You do understand you will loose a ton of the D100 features if you go with a D60????

http://www.dynonavionics.com/docs/EFIS_ ... rison.html

One that I would love with that panel would be the ability to share the EMS data on the Pilot's screen and vice versa. Can't do that with the D60.

It is clearly a VMC panel. Why the steam gauges at all? You already have a usable panel page in the 695 for backup.

Smitty, ditto Brantel's comments. I would opt for the beer opener on the key ring and install a cigarette lighter power port in place of the Hobbs. It is really convenient if a friend wants to plug in a cellphone, IPod or even a second GPS.

EAA - International Learn to Fly Day - Shameless plug

Post by smittysrv »

Hi guys,

I just finished a website for the EAA:
http://LearnToFly.org/

It's an effort by the EAA, AOPA and other organizations to get people interested in learning to fly. If you would, please share it with your local EAA Chapter.

Thanks!

Smitty:

This is just my opinion/observation and not a criticism: Why do you have your map box closer to your line of sight than your engine monitor? If it were me, I would swap positions between the engine monitor and the map box, maybe move the EFIS up a tad to be at the same level as the engine monitor after you stack it over your radio/transponder. That way you will have everything you need to monitor within a glance of each other. Move your intercom to just under the mapbox

Just a thought. I like all the equipment you are including. Has everything you need IMHO.
