Crap--trouble with my Dynon upload---

Post by lancef53 »

I brought my 8 in to the shop on Tuesday to change the oil and check things over, now that I have 16.5 hours on it :)

Everything checked out well, and I noticed that Dynon had come out with an update (5.3) about a week after I updated mine to 5.2. I decided I might as well update, and create a backup of my settings. During the backup process, something went wrong, and the communication between the Dynon and my computer was lost.

My pretty color screen went black, and it had to go back to Dynon for repairs. :bang:

No flying for me for a while, my unit should get there tomorrow or Saturday, but who knows how long it will take to get it fixed and back.

This phase one is gonna take forever at this rate!!

At least it has been bad weather, I think the wind was a steady 30 G40 yesterday

Lance that is why I don't always upload my Dynon unless I now that it has something that I need. I will have to check out 5.3 next week and see if there is anything I need on it. :) I hope that they it back to you in a week. :)

No there is really nothing that I needed, my main reason was to create the backup so I wouldn't have to redo the fuel calibration, and the other calibrations.

That didn't work out so well :bang:

My guess is that they are just going to reprogram the flash through a
JTAG port or some such. If that's the case it will take them longer to
unpack it and open it up than it will to do the deed. They should be
able to get it back to you fast.

I hope it goes fast, we have had 3 beautiful days in a row here. They sent me a confirmation saying they usually process repairs in 5 to 10 business days. I hope it is a little quicker than that!!

Next time I try for an upload, it will be a cold day in January :bang:
