I finished phase one!!! Anybody want a ride?

Post by lancef53 »

I flew off 3.1 hours today, to get to the grand total of 40.1. Yesterday a friend flew the aerobatic sequence for me, and said everything worked well.

I finally get to get more than 25 miles from home, and take someone with me. Who-hoo. 8)

The speeds seem to meet up with Vans specs, and is real fun to fly.

I thinbk I might be suffering builders withdrawl already, though

I guess I better get going painting it!!

Congratulations Lance 8)

A little over a month for phase one is great. You must be estatic. Has everything gone well? Any problems at all? It must be an awesome feeling to have that behind you Congratulations!

It went well, I had an issue with updating my Dynon and I lost about a week, other than that it went well. Three of us flew it, so that helped alot.

I need to do some work on the autopilot, the altitude hold works well but the heading wanders all over, both on track or heading.

I need to calibrate my Dynon compass, it is way off when headed south, but matches up with the 496 going East, North, or west.

I need to finish the intersection fairings, and final fiberglass work for painting, but that might be a winter project.

I have a couple of nagging oil leaks, but nothing major.

Yeah, yeah, and you just happen to live in the heart of the Washington ADIZ....

Care to meet me somewhere South?

Glad you got your time flown off. You better wait to do the fiber glass work until freeze up this Fall. You want to take advantage of the Warm weather for flying. My Wing tips, wheel pants etc. are at the paint shop and are supposed to be done this week. I have the the lights ordered and they are supposed to be here tomorrow. I will put them on the Wings and then put everything back on the airplane. I hope to be flying in a week. :) :)

Have you started field work yet? Depending upon weather your field work we may head up your way some soon. I would telephone first.

Yes, we got the corn and wheat in a couple weeks ago, and hope to start the beans soon.

Let me know when you are thinking of coming up, we can work it out.

Took me 5 years to get mine painted. Once you start flying it, it's hard to stop.
