How many people actually use these? There is a company making them now for $50/pair...I can see the value of these, and the price is really pretty good considering the amount of time it saves for those of us without woodworking tools...

Wood gear leg stiffeners
Several places I have seen people say these things do not make any difference...I am not sure they would or would not...
Start flying without em and if you think you need em you could add em later.
Personally I don't think you do.
Heck if you can figure out how to land an RV7 without the "RV Skip" you will have all kinds of bragging rights!!!!

Fly without them first Chad. If you experience gearleg shimmy, there are other avenues you can pursue prior to going with the stiffeners. I had some main gear shimmy that was eliminated with installation of new tires, for example.

I have a friend that made them but after screwing around with them trying to get the fits just right he left them off. No problems so far.

Chad, Fly with out them! I think they may have been useful when they used aluminum for gear leg fairings. With fiberglass fairings you don't need them. My airplane as of this morning as 84 ours (RV-6A) and no problems. We fly it off a pretty rough strip and we have not experienced shimmy. I was surpriesed the plans for a seven even included them.
