Dynon cable and checklists

Post by hydroguy2 »

I'm patiently waiting for FSDO inspection. So figured it's a good time to build some checklists for my Dynon180.

1. does anyone have any Checklists they want to share.

2. what cable or where do I get a cable to connect my laptop to 9 pin serial port?

also anyone shorten the ELT phone cord, and put the end back on? does it work?

Yeah, that works fine. Just make sure the polarity it right when you recrimp the RJ11/12 connector. If you mess it up though, it doesn't blow up the ELT or remote. Don't ask how I know!

I shortened mine, but didn't pay attention and may have the wires wrong, so my remote doesn't work. I guess I'll flip it over and try again

Brian, The best way to crimp the ELT telephone wire is to have someone with a crimper made for telephone wire do it. My friend who helped me wire my airplane is a retired Quest employee and he got a buddy to bring over a crimper and redo mine after we shortened it. I will e-mail you my check list for an RV-6A. It is to large to copy here. I have not listed my checklists into the the Dynon. I did it when I first installed it and then there was an update that earsed it. We haven't really found that necesary on the Dynon maybe next Summer we will try it again.
