Wishing all Rivetbangers a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

For those of you that remember my son Mike from the Otter, he will be in the Rose Bowl Parade and doing half time at the Rose Bowl in the University of Wisconsin Marching Band. Proud Mom and Dad will be there too. Go Bucky!

As each year goes by my life feels like the guy who jumped off the 90 story building. Each window I pass I yell out "so far so good"

Happy holidays! May this coming year be better than the last, which, so far, was wonderful :)

I know the feeling!

Jeff,

I'm the proud father of a young musician, too. So I know exactly how you feel. Congratulations! That's really great! What instrument does he play?

Hey... I'll make you a deal. I'll root for the Badgers in the Rose Bowl if you'll join me in rooting for the Oregon Ducks in the BCS championship game against Auburn on Jan. 10th. How's that?

That sounds like a fair enough deal, Bruce. You're on!

Mike plays the trombone. He'll be wearing a red uniform with a red and white plume on his hat. Can't miss him! :P

Jeff, okay... that's great! I'll be watching for him. Sounds like an easy one to pick out. Have a good trip and a great time! My very best to Mike!

FWIW, my son Daniel doesn't play in a marching band but he is a music major; an exceptional pianist (loves classical music), and also plays clarinet in the symphony. He makes me very proud. What a great kid. On top of all that, he knows his way around a rivet gun and shot hundreds of rivets with me in the shop working on my RV.
