Cabin Creek Landing

Post by hydroguy2 »

Had a Home Owners meeting today at our property in Marion MT, normally this has been a 250mile 4.5hr drive. But the weather outlook was favorable and Kris(nervous flyer) was willing. I've never flown my plane into Cabin Creek yet, but first time for everything. So we blasted off around 0930 from 8U8 and landed at 97MT 1.3hrs later.

Here's Aurora in front of the Bed&Breakfast. Only conflict was 3 members working on new runway lights didn't see us on final and one stepped out in friont of me I had to throttle up and land long...on a 3400' RY.

After the meeting we had to zip back for a BBQ party next door. It was a little bumpy and hazy below 10000, but looked like 11500 might be above it all.

ended up at 11500 for a bit and weaved thru some puffy stuff. First time for Kris.

Great day in the RV. 2.4hrs roundtrip vs 9 in the Honda.

Wow Brian! That picture of Aurora sitting in front of the cabin looks like it could be on a sales brochure. Very nice.

Awesome Brian! That kind of flying is some of my favorite! I love weaving around the buildups...as long as respect is observed for the big ones!
