New Aviation Magazine

Post by cptbuzz »

Hey Rivetbangers,

As many of you may or may not already know, I am getting ready to launch a free magazine that is designed just for my fellow experimental airplane enthusiasts. So that I can tailor to exactly what you all want to see and read about, please take a minute to complete my super short survey (6 questions to click an answer). It will help me know who the magazine's audience is and what you all would like to read about. Thanks!

Thanks!

I really appreciate everyone taking the time to complete my survey. I have learned so much about what you all want in a magazine. I have logged it all and am excited to go forward. I am going to keep the survey up only a few more days, probably till the weekend, so if you have not voice your thoughts, please do so. I really want to hear what you want, and what will help you out with your aviation endeavors. Thank you for all you have done, and thank you in advance for those that will take the survey soon.

Hmm, not to be unkind, but I looked at your survey, and I only saw one question that pertained to what I might want in a magazine. The others were demographic questions that might help your advertisers target me. So, I don't quite understand how you could have "learned so much about what we all want in a magazine."

But, that isn't the only reason I passed on completing the survey. I never do those multiple choice surveys. If a vendor really wants to know what I think, he's welcome to call me for a chat. If I were gathering info for myself, I'd rather talk to 10 people than compile data from 1000 multiple choice surveys.

All that said, I wish you well in your venture.

Thank you for your response. I would like to respond to your thoughts. I have received nearly a hundred full responses from individuals that really want to see something different than the norm magazine that are currently being distributed. I truly value every one of them, and am logging them all so that I can try to address everyone in my magazine. As I am not all about the advertising, but more about the reader, I am making a huge concerted effort to put my readers first. I am also not naive to the fact that there has to be advertising as well to help pay for this, so the basic demographic questions that give advertisers what they need to help support my efforts are also there. Many have sent me personal messages supporting my efforts, and have offered up ideas and thoughts, and have even offered to write some of the articles for me, as first hand experiences.

So, I understand your concerns, but my questioning was carefully designed to find a balance that would offer me success, as well as open the door for readers to give me their thoughts and desires. They are truly welcomed.

Thanks for your feedback.....I hope with the new info I have provided, you will reconsider...if not, I hope to have your input as I value it immensely.
