Engine Installed!

I finally got some time to clean out the shop, and move stuff around to get the gear legs on the fuselage and mount the engine. Getting the third bolt in was the hard part. Once 3 bolts were all fully tightened, the last one was fairly easy to install.

It is starting to look like this project will be flying eventually. I guess the next step in the process is to fit the cowling. I don't have a prop yet, but should be able to fit up a spacer to mount the spinner back plate and fake it.

I like the Gold. Is that a hint regarding paint?

I don't have any exterior paint scheme in mind yet. I just want to get this flying soon as possible.

I had two choices on the engine color - Lycoming gray or Continental gold. I like the gold better, even though this is a Lycoming.

You may want to make a decision on the Propeller and get it before you attempt to fit the cowl. I don't remember the exact sequence but I think I eve had to specify the engine and propeller before they shipped my cowl. I had one of the last quick build RV-6A's and maybe the newer cowls are different.

Ditton on the prop comment, though considering that your crank is plugged I assume you have at least decided on fixed pitch, if not the entire kit.
