Nuckolls wiring seminar in KPYM

Post by captain_john »

Hi All,

As a preliminary head count, who would be interested in attending a
wiring seminar hosted by the EAA Chapter 62 in Plymouth, MA on August
14, 2005? Please PM me directly off the board.

This will be in conjuntion with a "burger-fest". The burgers will be
served on Saturday, August 13, 2005 and you are welcome to spend the
night here in Plymouth. I will make accomodations for you and organize
an "RV Dinner" that night.

The seminar will be on the following day and Bob Nuckoll's typical
schedule as outlined on his website at www.aeroelectric.com and will
be adhered to for the entire day. It isn't cheap, but neither is
burning up your plane due to faulty wiring.

This is a Fly-In/Drive-In event, rain or shine!

Discussion on the board is encouraged and will aid in the design of
this event.

This isn't limited to RV's so tell your plastic airplane buddies!

Questions? Fire away!

Knuckolls wiring seminar in KPYM

I am open that weekend. If I can get things lined up, permission from ze wif, and if the house is squared away I might be able to get up there. Might see if I can bring a friend or two, one of which will be starting the wiring of his plane (8A) right about that time. That is, if CJ still likes me after that last thread ;)

UPDATE:

It's a GO!!!

I just returned from the Plymouth, MA Airport Commission meeting and lined up the town's meeting room for the event!!!

They asked how we were going to tie downthese little planes. The airport manager said that they weren't flying lawn chairs and it won't be an issue. I added, "These are REAL airplanes!"

That got the attention of a few people there!

I will keep you posted on the rest of the details!!!

Come one, come all!

TTT

Cool, guys!

The RV Fly-in and Nuckolls seminar is a GO! We have been working diligently in bringing Bob Nuckolls to this area for a seminar and it is finally paying off! TODAY we got the preliminary page set up on the www.aeroelectric.com site. You can find it at:

http://www.aeroelectric.com/seminars/Plymouth_2005.html

If you follow the link to the www.eaaul62.com site you can stay up to date with the most recent information! Of course, I will be checking in here regularly so please feel free to peck a message to me.

I have secured 10 rooms at the Comfort Inn (see the aeroelectric site) on Saturday, August 13th and they MUST be put on YOUR card if you want to take advantage of a secure accomodation! This must be done immediately if you want a room. First come, first serve and I pull my credit card off the rooms 30 days prior to the gig. This is so I don't end up paying for them my damn self!

In the meanwhile... we will be hosting impromptu cookouts at a members hangar at KPYM before the event. We will have burgers and such for only a donation and are just looking to meet some other builders in a comfortable setting. More on that later.

Sign up for the gig now, reserve your rooms!

I will have ground transportation, dinner plans and lunch provisions in place. No worries, mate!

See you all soon!

:) John

John, are there going to be any people in attendance that will NOT be going to the seminar but just hanging around instead? I am interested in spending time with you guys but can think of a better place to put the $200+ when I am so far from needing the course and have a house closing coming up.

Absolutely!

Sunday afternoon is the time for yucking it up with the attendees.

If you would like to arrive saturday afternoon, there are plenty of things to do that night and the following day.

You needn't feel forced to attend the seminar. I am guesing there will be others like you just wanting to get togther. We can park your planes at a private hangar and they will be totally secure there.

I will be listening intently to Bob, but I like wires and such.

My fellow chapter members that aren't in the midst of building/wiring projects will be milling around and you can chat with them!

There is always downtown Plymouth, too! We can drop you off in the loser cruiser (courtesy van).

Come on up!
