I have been using teflon tape, the expensive stuff, under the wing to minimize chaffing. the tape was cut to 1/2-inch width and was applied under the wing extension and cut flush. it had been working well for 1000 hrs but I am beginning to notice scratches. I believe the scratches are due to the very edge of the sheet metal of wing. over time the tape may have worn, or moved away from the edge. so, plan B is to extend the teflon tape 1/16 inch beyond the edge. only 5 hrs on this so far but in theory it may work. 1 inch tape roll, 1/2 inch applied to left hand side and cut, then the remaining hand applied to the right-hand side to achieve the 1/16 extension. to cut the tape I rolled the exposed edge up 90 degrees and slide a razor along.
over time the 1/16-inch adhesive exposed edge may become dirty on the top side, but I can live with that. I really don't know how well this will hold up.

this method of extending the teflon anti-chaf tape .050-.070 inch beyon the edge of the wing seems to be working well.
