How are we gonna get from OSH...

Post by captain_john »

to dinner at the steakhouse on wednesday night?

Do you think we should rent a van or something?

Maybe taxis or something?

Think all the cabbies will be booked?

How are we gonna get from OSH...

Good question! I have been too busy with the house and such to figure that one out. I was planning on calling up the bus company that does all of the shuttles from EAA to Appleton on Monday. I figure we have about 15 people or so that need to go. We can get to Appleton without much issue. However, their last bus leaves Appleton for Osh at 7PM and I wasn't to sure we could be done eating and drinking by then ;) Of course if you want to take the ball, run with it, and figure something out I would be quite grateful.

Spike,

Looks like I won't be able to get into OSH until Thursday so I won't make the steak dinner. I am staying in Appleton but don't check in until Thursday. Couldn't get the extra day.

There is a bus that takes people to the Machine Shed restaurant right next to my hotel but I go there in my truck so I'm no help on ground transport.

I will make the Vans Banquet but I will miss you guys and the 7 builders deal at OSH that night :bang:

Hope I run into you guys somewhere up there. I'll be on the ground Thursday to Sunday.

Be good guys and good luck on the arrangements.

Hey guys. I am in the same boat with Jim. I am just not gonna be able to get there until Thursday early morning. I am planning on making the Van's banquet as well though.

My suggestion to save some dough would be to take the bus to Appleton, and get one of the limo companies that has a mini bus to take you guys back. The ones around here aren't too bad price-wise, especially when split amongst the group.

Sorry I can't make it. Between me and my dad's schedules, we just can't get away until the 28th. Bummer...

BTW, I drove up to OSH today to pick up the Mazda 13B rotary that I bought. This is a research engine for me to play with and learn. Went right by the airport and EAA headquarters, and they are really getting ready. Port-o-potty's are everywhere, and there are people in Camp Scholler already!! That's a long drive up there (6 hours and 10 minutes with Chicago traffic accounted for!! Took the Madison route home, and made it in 4 hours flat!), and I am VERY happy to return in two and a half weeks, but by AIR (1 hour, 30 minutes)!!!

Ellen and I will have a car and can take 2-3 folks from Scholler.

Spike, where is the steak joint in Appleton?
