RV8 - ASN Report - G-RVAR

Post by A2022 »

well, during an emergency landing on rough or soft terrain, tail draggers are susceptible to flipping over. Incidents of this nature have been particularly high this year, predominantly involving nose draggers. Being in a remote location may result in considerable rescue delays. Consequently, it is recommended to be prepared with a means to break the canopy and self-extricate if possible. It is likely that one may sustain head injuries.

A Van's RV-8 crashed at Vale of Neath Gliding Club, near Rhigos, Wales, and flipped upside down. The pilot was injured and taken to hospital and the aircraft received substantial damage.
