Incidents of this nature have been particularly high this year, predominantly involving nose draggers. Being in a remote location may result in considerable rescue delays. Consequently, it is recommended to be prepared with a means to break the canopy and self-extricate if possible. It is likely that one may sustain head injuries.
A Van's RV-8 crashed at Vale of Neath Gliding Club, near Rhigos, Wales, and flipped upside down. The pilot was injured and taken to hospital and the aircraft received substantial damage.
