What do you fly?

Post by cjensen »

just wondering what everybody's rides are while waiting for that magic day.

i'm sort of in that 'lucky-sometimes' category that i have access to our inventory airplanes. from 152's to mooney's to malibu's. other times, i have absolutely nothing to fly. :(

what's yours?? :)

Chad, I am kinda lucky like you.

I have a plethora of planes to choose from. My "regulars" are Citabria and Cherokee Six. Lately I have been hooked on the Arrow, though!

In addition to those steeds, we have the typical 152's, 172's, Warriors and Archers to choose from.

We also have a Dutchess, but I am not multi yet.

When I go to Maine, I do fly the occasional C172 on floats too! It is like having a 3 dimensional boat!

Chad, my buddy might call you to chat Malibus sometime. I gave him your 411!

I get a commission, right!?!

Wifey and I fly an Arrow II and thought it was fast until we started hanging out with the everyone from the MN Wing of Vans Air Force!

We used to get places faster than anyone we flew with...now we havn't even done any of the fly in's unless we're riding in another builder's RV. My ego is too fragile to be the one lumbering in and have everyone waiting on the ramp for! :|

I'm blessed to be partnered in a Pietenpol and an RV4--(both low and slow and the other end of the scale). The 4 will take back to the skies soon after some re-doing. I also am building another 4 while ground bound. Sometimes I wish there was an amphib around to make use of the large lake near the strip... do you think that would be asking too much? My pard says you can't have too many airplanes... is he right? :)

Oh, yahhhh... I am thinking that some type of Murphy on floats would enhance the collection quite nicely!

The Local floatplane base is actually closer to me than the landplane base!

I fly a 172 - flew it to CO 2 weeks ago, then started home on Fri, got thwarted by weather, and barely made it back to where I started! She's tied down now in Longmont (2V2) until I can get back to rescue her. I'm trying to convince my brother to get a CFI and take some lessons....

I currently fly a pretty cherry 172. Sure, its a bit slow, but so what? Its a plane and that makes me more blessed than most.
