Trials and tribulations

Post by captain_john »

Lemme tells ya, the company is great.

In my fuse kit, I had some rejected (by me) items. In three component kits, this was the first time I rejected parts. Not a bad record, if you ask me.

While checking in the parts, I inspected the welds with a friend who is a pro. We agreed that the tailwheel fork had a notch which weakened the design and the rudder pedal weldment had one area where too much heat was used in the MIG process.

I also had a dent in the side skin. Here are both sides:

Gus sent me an entire new skin for the goose! It came yesterday. He says that I will get new weldments when they get my returned items.

I am thrilled with the customer service!

Thanks, Gus!

Excellent. There is a reason that Van's is making a killing with their products.

When I first inventoried my emp kit, I called Vans to report a slightly bent RH Elevator skin. Two days later UPS dropped off a new one. They sent my the replacement part before I even started the build!
