Hi Loren,
The way I do it is....first put the picture on your homepage. Most internet accounts give you a certain amount of room for you own personal webpage. You don't have to create a web document (html file) just put the picture in the folder. As an example my personal webpage is accessed by typing
www.flex.com/~lostsurf/ in your internet browser. So if I wanted to look at a picture called hotrod.jpg I would type
www.flex.com/~lostsurf/hotrod.jpg in the location bar of my browser.
To upload a picture to you homepage use an FTP client. There are many free ones available on the web. I use WS_FTP Pro. You just start the program and access your own personal webpage by pointing the ftp program to you internet account (ISP). As an example mine is ftp.flex.com It prompts you for your username and password (should be the same as your internet access) if you haven't set it up automatically in the ftp program. Then just upload the file to your homepage folder.
The other way is to PM (Private Message) spike for a GALLERY account on rivetbangers. You can upload your photos there and put them up on the board.
You insert them into a message on the board with the |img|
http://www.flex.com/~lostsurf/hotrod.jpg|/img| tags (leave out the quotes) with the little buttons at the top of the composer (Post a reply) area.
Here's the example
