For those of you who used the special tank dimple dies, where did you use them?
Are they intended for the substructures (ribs, stiffeners, etc) on the tanks with normal dimples in the skin, or are you supposed to dimple everything (skin included) with the special dies?
Thanks
Thomas

Dimple everything, thomas.
By everything I mean any hole that attaches rib to skin. I then run the hole deburring tool in it too! This really "crisps" the dimple up. If you don't do this, the rivet can sit slightly proud of the hole. To see a little proseal all around the rivet is a good thing too.
I do the hole debur thing on all my skin rivets that don't sit flush. Just a turn or two is plenty to flush things up.

Yep... dimple the skin and the ribs with the tank dies.
Cauition!!! The skin to baffle rivets get countersunk!
I know that someone (I forget whom & it wasn't me!) dimpled them by accident in the past. I am sure they weren't alone. Others probably made the same mistake.
