My first Ground Loop

Ok, the subject title may be a little misleading and I may have sent all you "A" guys into "there goes another reason I'm building a nose dragger" mode. In all actuallity I finally got to pop the top on my first signature "Ground Loop Ale" and darn it's pretty good. I checked with the postal service and it is against the law to mail alcohol, period. So, if anyone is near Colorado Springs and wants to stop by to see my -8 project and do a Ground Loop Ale, let me know.

P.S. Thomas, I got a few with your name on them. If you can't come down I may try to fly up to Boulder this weekend.

This short thread had me running a roller coaster of emotions!

First, the obvious... oh no, Bill wrecked his plane!

Second, Hooray! I get to try his ale!

Third, Damn... I am not gonna try his ale!

Not that I've ever done this, but if it get's to the post office already packaged. you could just call it fragile and glass.

Hell, I've even had. . . err, I mean I heard that someone had a few break enroute once. No harm no foul.

Do you really think nobody mails bottles of wine to relatives or friends on holidays? I'll bet it's more of a don't ask don't tell policy.

Of course it could, I suppose, be considered bootlegging. transporting across state lines without a license etc. They have more to worry about than someone sending a 6 pack through the mail.

If you are set against USPS, I'll bet fedex or UPS wouldn't even ask.

I did some research and the only way I can ship alcohol USPS/UPS/FEDEX is if I have a distributors licence. I don't plan on obtaining one and won't break the law by trying to sneak it into the system. Sorry, my security clearence and pilot's licence are more important to me. What I can do though is give some extras to Thomas to take back to Indy for you east coasters. Then maybe Chad can drop into KUMP and get it to you when he is traveling around. That is if Thomas or Chad don't end up drinking it themselves.

Yeah, I couldn't garauntee it would make it past central IL.

I flew right over the top of KUMP four times this week! Gave a wing wag to Thomas...but no reply.
