2nd Annual Oshkosh Gathering ..

Post by Spike »

Or in other words, whats going on at Osh...

Vans is having their banquet on Thursday night and I have heard some rumblings about a bbq or some such for Wed night (whats the scoop for that?)

So with that in mind, we are planning the 2nd annual Rivetbangers Gathering at the Prime Quarter for Tuesday evening (the 25th I believe). Last years gathering seemed to be a great hit, the food was great, and watching a select few chow down on a 40 oz steak was quite entertaining. Let me know if your in and Ill take care of things with the restaraunt.

Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend Osh this year. I will be stuck soaring in the Alps of Southern France.

Oh well, maybee next year,

I'm not sure what days we will be there yet. For sure Wed and Thursday it looks like but not sure about Tuesday. We make it if we can though. I'll know more when it gets closer and let you know for sure.

What's the Prime Quarter? A steak house?

Spike I'm changing my plans and coming in Tuesday to make the Rivetbangers Ball!

...seems like everyone is coming in the first half! I'm now planning on being in camp Scholler Monday night and staying through Friday.

Hope to see you all there!

John, its a steakhouse in Appleton. Quite honestly I think its the best steak around and look forward to going there whenever I can. Its a bit odd in that you cook your own. However, its kind of cool in that they have huge indoor grills to use and its a great time to shoot the pooh and enjoy the company while grilling up some beaf.

I had not thought about that to be honest Chad. Last year I arranged it and it was a bust. Everyone had rides and we didnt have enough to justify a charter. We all ended up just car pooling, which, with the amount of people driving this year, I think might work out again. I can fit 5 - 6 in the monster truck, though the front would be a bit cramped. You can put your wife up there with me and Patti

  Chad, sounds like your wife and mine might get along. My wife's idea of roughing it would be to find the nearest Hilton.

As long as we can make it on Tuesday I could haul 4 or 5 people besides Luke and me as I plan on driving my truck.

I'm looking forward to having a good steak and meeting everyone!

HA! Yep! If she doesn't have an electrical outlet and a mirror in the morning, the rest of the day is downhill! She would go with me every year if we could snag a room at the Oshkosh on airport Hilton! :)

Count me in...

Post by RV7Factory »

If you guys gather for a steak-fest count me in. It would be nice to put faces with names. It will just be me, the wife is staying home.

I am staying in the UW dorms and have a car, so if anyone needs a ride.

Holy cow CJ (pun intended), you can do some damage! :o

Reminds me of the "Ole' 96-er" scene in the movie The Great Outdoors.

CJ, by your statement, I get the impression you won't be there. :( Too bad, I was looking forward to meeting you and buying you a beer (or two, or three...) for all the electrical help. :)

I'll be driving from Camp Scholler (if they'll let us leave) so anyone that needs a ride from there let me know! I can take 5 total in my rig.

Any other cars leaving from Camp Scholler??? We should drive over in formation! (so I don't get lost!)

Peter, my dad and I will be staying in Scholler as well, so count the two of us in your rig.

I don't think they have any problem with cars leaving, as long as the tents and camp area is still set up. I couldn't see taking a motorhome out, and not losing your spot, but I think taking cars out is fine.
