RVator rumor
I don't know too much about the Kitfox or how long it has been around, but Van and his team seem to have the right formula ALL THE TIME. I really hope there is no bubble waiting to be popped! I think Van's is rather cautious about the avenues they pursue, and a lot of time and effort is spent gathering info and market analysis to see if a new design or redesign is feasible and worth while. Not to temp fate, but has Van's ever had a rough go? Seems as long as i can remember, the RV series has been wildy popular...

A few differences stick out in my mind. Kitfox had competitors that were basically spitting images of the kitfox. Vans seems to have dodged that bullet.
Another big difference seems to be that RV's are being bought by pilots outside of the homebuilders community. Not really so with Kitfox. Kitfox's product was excellent, they were on my short list, but didnt pass the "I feel comfy they will be around for a long time" test, and didn't pass the "I have a fat @ss" test either.
I think Van's will do fine in the foreseable future.

Looks like the big announcment was a match-hole RV-8 kit. Van's said they reduced the parts count. They also re-wrote the construction manual. All RV-8 kits bought at OSH and going forward will receive the new kits and new manual at no cost.
And of course the RV-12 that wasn't going to be at OSH is at OSH.
Looks pretty nice too.

A friend just bought an 8 tail and wing kit from another builder. I'm sure he will enjoy the MH fuse!
The 12 seemed to attract a lot of attention but according to Van a lot of people were asking about building it with flush rivets.
