Spike's Progress Pics

Post by spikescopilot »

Just in case you were wondering why Spike hasn't been adding whiz-bang features to the board lately, I have some progress pics. They're crappy pics, so you're going to have to use your imagination. :bang:

Here's Spike painting our sitting room. You can see the old light fixture in this picture.

Image

This is our new sitting room. It took several coats of white paint, kilz and then a final coat of blue. Spike installed a ceiling fan and wireless remote and tacked down the satellite cable nice and neat. We finished the room off with new furniture and sheers (not shown).

Image

We decided to move our office upstairs into the one remaining room. Before we could do anything, we had to pull down a really awful wallpaper border, and found this underneath:

Image

As it turns out, That Crazy B*tch Juliette (who we bought the house from) put a wallpaper border of a beautiful hand stenciled border. The border was beautiful and it killed us to have to paint over it, but we had already started repairing drywall holes so it had to be painted.

Here's the room as it sits now, with fresh paint and new window coverings. We'll be buying some new furniture (and maybe a high speed connection) sometime in the next couple of weeks.

Image

So, that's what Spike's been working on! (Those pictures are hosted on my Flickr site.) Anyone who wants the complete story on Spike's travails in finishing these rooms can read about it in the "home improvement" section of my blog.

Great pics Patti!

I think you should make Spike change his sig from 'Lindy Bound' to 'Helping Patti remodel our home' or 'Remodeling our home for Patti'.

Nice upgrades. I hope he put at least one solid rivet into something in one of those rooms, even a fan blade, something

Hey Spike, if your listening I feel your pain. :o

Karla's honey do list is written on a scroll! Then we are having Thanksgiving here this year for the family so that just adds to it. Oh well, I figure if she is letting me build an airplane I better take good care of her also. Maybe in December I'll get back to the RV.

Patti, it does look good!

Let me think about that ......

I am glad to finally be out of the woods. The next pressing thing is to finish up the IFR, and then its back to the RV. Can't wait.
